A special clinic for dengue patients will be launched at the National Ayurveda Hospital in Borella from Friday, July 31, in view of the increasing spread of dengue, Hospital Director Dr Parakrama Hemantha Chandra said.Speaking to the media, the Hospital Director stated that dengue patients who wish to receive treatment under the Ayurveda system of medicine may obtain treatment at the National Ayurveda Hospital in Borella.Consultant Physician Dr Saminda Ariyaratne of the hospital emphasized that dengue patients should not use home remedies or any medication other than those prescribed by a qualified Western medical practitioner or an Ayurveda physician.

He also urged the public to refrain from following the various treatment advice and remedies being circulated on social media.Dr Ariyaratne further stated that the condition of some dengue patients had become serious after using home remedies such as papaya leaf juice, resulting in a range of complications.
