The National Water Supply and Drainage Board has announced an emergency water cut in several areas following a sudden breakdown in the main transmission pipeline supplying water from Ambatale to Kaduwela.

According to the Board, the disruption occurred due to a technical failure in the main supply line, prompting urgent repair work. As a result, the water supply was suspended from 7:30 p.m. today (May 9) and is expected to remain interrupted until 1:00 p.m. tomorrow (May 10).

The areas affected by the water cut include Kaduwela, Kothalawala, Weliwita, Hewagama, Korathota, Bomiriya, Nawagamuwa, Ranala and Kahanthota.
