Mahinda Rajapaksa pays last respects to Kapila Chandrasena
Colombo, May 10 (Daily Mirror) – The remains of the late Kapila Chandrasena, the former Chief Executive Officer of SriLankan Airlines, are currently lying at a private funeral parlor in Borella. Chandrasena was found dead under suspicious circumstances at a residence in Kollupitiya last Friday, shortly after a warrant had been issued for his re-arrest regarding a high-profile bribery investigation.
Among those who arrived to pay their final respects this morning (May 10) was former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Speaking to the media at the venue, the former President said that he came to honor “a person who had served the country.”
He told the media that he has received a notification to appear before the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) and stated that he intends to comply and appear before the commission as requested.
