Colombo, May 11 (Daily Mirror) – The Central Environmental Authority (CEA) said today that environment clearance has not been granted for a cable car project at the Sri Pada (Adam’s Peak) site.

Director General of the Central Environmental Authority Kapila Rajapaksha confirmed that no environment clearance has been granted for such a cable car project.He said this while responding to a question whether any approval has been granted to a cable car project at the Sri Pada site.It was earlier reported that attention has been drawn to introducing a cable car project at the Sri Pada site as part of efforts to enhance the country’s tourism infrastructure.
