– The Government will continue the QR-based fuel distribution system as conflicts in the Middle East remain unresolved, Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said today.Speaking at the post-Cabinet media briefing, Jayatissa said the QR system remains necessary to manage fuel supplies, although fuel consumption has declined to some extent.

He said continued instability in the Strait of Hormuz was affecting global oil prices, resulting in fluctuations in crude oil prices.“The oil crisis has not yet been resolved. As a country, we are using this system to maintain daily life as much as possible without disruption,” Jayatissa said.
