The water level of the Minneriya Reservoir in Polonnaruwa District has fallen to 36%, with around 40,000 acre-feet of water remaining from its 110,000-acre-foot capacity.Water releases for Yala paddy cultivation are due to end within the next two days.

The Parakrama Samudra is at 56% capacity, while Giritale Reservoir has less than 8,500 acre-feet remaining.
