– A Grade 12 student was arrested after allegedly attacking five fellow students with a sharp weapon inside a leading school in Eppawala today (13), police said.

According to the Police Media Division, the injured students, all from the Advanced Level Technology stream, sustained minor injuries and were admitted to the Eppawala District Hospital for treatment.Police said the suspect is also a Grade 12 student of the same school and belongs to the Science stream.Preliminary investigations revealed that a dispute had reportedly taken place a few days earlier between the suspect and one of the injured students. The incident is believed to have escalated into an act of retaliation this morning.

Police further stated that the suspect had initially targeted one student, while four others were injured when they attempted to intervene during the assault.
