DISASTER MANAGEMENT CENTRE ADDS IN SEVEN DISTRICTS 3500 PERSONS IN 1,100 FAMILES EFFECTED BY FLOODS

The Disaster Management Centre(DMC) noted that 3,475 individuals from 1,113 families have been affected by adverse weather conditions across the country.

 

According to the DMC, residents in seven districts have been impacted by heavy rainfall and strong winds, while affected people have been moved to 489 temporary camps.

 

DMC also confirmed one weather-related death and damage to 88 houses due to ongoing rains.

 

The public has been advised to contact the 117 emergency hotline during weather-related emergencies.
