Ministry pledges support for wildlife officers facing baseless allegations
– The Ministry of Environment has assured that it will provide legal and administrative support to wildlife and veterinary officers who face false or baseless allegations while properly performing their duties.The assurance was given by the Environment Minister during a special discussion held yesterday (23) with representatives of the Wildlife Veterinary Professional Association.The meeting also drew attention to inaccurate information being circulated on social media concerning wildlife officers, veterinary officers and the Ministry administration.
The Minister said the Ministry would not hesitate to stand by officers through legal and administrative means if false allegations were made against them while they were carrying out their duties properly.The discussion also focused on resolving long-standing professional and service-related issues faced by wildlife veterinarians.
The Ministry said the discussions would contribute towards improving the welfare of the wildlife sector and the job satisfaction of veterinary officers while ensuring the uninterrupted and efficient continuation of services.
