Hirunika Premachandra and another individual were ordered to be arrested and produced before court after Pasan Amarasekara, the Fort Magistrate, yesterday (15) issued warrants for their arrest.The warrants were issued due to their failure to appear before court for a hearing while out on bail. The Magistrate also ordered notices and summons to be issued on the sureties.

The warrants were issued when a complaint filed against 12 persons, including Hirunika Premachandra, over a protest held near the entrance to the Presidential Secretariat in 2022 was taken up before court.
