A discussion attended by members of the Joint Opposition was held today (16) at Flower Road in Colombo.

According to internal sources, discussions were held regarding the third in a series of conferences being organised across the country to educate the public on alleged corruption by the government. The third conference is scheduled to be held in Ja-Ela on the 24th.

The discussion lasted for several hours and was attended by representatives of the United National Party, Sri Lanka Freedom Party and Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.

Former Member of Parliament Lasantha Alagiyawanna, speaking at the event, stated:

“The Joint Opposition will hold the third in our series of conferences in the Gampaha District on the 24th. All parties in the Joint Opposition held discussions regarding this. The opposition is present everywhere, there is no issue,  they will unite when necessary. Everyone will come together. Political parties currently in the opposition are continuing to strengthen their respective parties. When an election comes, we will fulfil our responsibility as a responsible political force in line with the needs of the country.”
