Sri Lanka’s tallest living tusker, Kavantissa, has died while receiving treatment at a paddy field in Galgamuwa.The elephant, which inhabited the Galgamuwa region, was recently found with a suspected gunshot wound to its right foreleg and was receiving veterinary treatment.Although the wound had reportedly shown signs of healing, concerns grew over Kavantissa’s condition after the elephant displayed other symptoms, including refusing to eat for several days.
