A discussion between the Secretary to the President – Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, and representatives of the Bauddhaloka Vesak Committee was held yesterday (May 18) at the Presidential Secretariat.

The 25th edition of the Bauddhaloka Vesak Zone, organised in conjunction with this year’s Vesak celebrations, is scheduled to be held from May 30 to June 01 along Bauddhaloka Mawatha.

Organised under the guidance of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and coordinated through the Presidential Secretariat, the event will be conducted with the participation of all relevant public and private institutions. Extensive discussions were held on the preparations underway and the arrangements for providing facilities to the public.

The meeting was attended by Colombo Mayor Vraie Cally Balthazaar, Senior Additional Secretary to the President Roshan Gamage, President of the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress, Chandra Nimal Wakishta, Vice President, Roshan Maddumage, Treasurer Wasantha de Silva, along with officials from government institutions, senior officers of the security forces, and representatives of sponsoring organisations.
