A man has been arrested by Police officers stationed at the Kadawatha exit of the expressway, for trying to pay at the toll gate using a counterfeit Rs. 1000/- note.

Police say that the 35-year-old man was arrested on Sunday (16) morning and has been handed over to the Kadawatha Police Station.

The suspect is a resident of Haputale and is to be produced before the Mahara Magistrate on Monday (17). Kadawatha Police are conducting further investigations
