Anura Kumara sends LoD to Kuttiarachchi

National People’s Power (NPP) Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake has sent a Letter of Demand (LoD) lto Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Thissa Kuttiarachchi demanding Rs. 10 billion in damages for alleged false and defamatory remarks the latter had made regarding the NPP Leader during a public rally.

A LoD sent by Sunil Watagala, the NPP Leader’s lawyer to Mr Kuttiarachchi alleges that he made false and defamatory remarks regarding the NPP leader during an SLPP rally held on August 19. Mr Kuttiarachchi had claimed that Mr Dissanayake had invested USD 5 billion in Malta.

The LoD has given the SLPP MP 14 days in which to pay the damages demanded by the NPP leader or face legal action.

Honorary council membership in China for ASLCSCC President

The Guangdong People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (GDPAFFC) has appointed Mr. Indrananda Abeysekera – President of the Association for Sri Lanka – China Social and Cultural Cooperation (ASLCSCC) as an Honorary Council member of 11th Executive Council of the GDPAFFC.

Mrs. Liu Chenzi,President of GDPAFFC has presented the appointment certificate to Mr. Abeysekera recently in Guangzhou, China.
