Diplomats donate salaries to Sri Lanka’s disaster relief

– Sri Lanka’s diplomatic community in Colombo has made a collective personal contribution of LKR 3.6 million to support the country’s disaster relief efforts, with several ambassadors donating from their own salaries to assist those affected by the recent earthquake.

The donation was handed over today to Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath by Indonesian Ambassador Dewi Gustina Tobing, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, during a ceremony at the Minister’s Bureau at the Republic Building.Ambassadors from the Maldives, Italy, Korea, Switzerland, Palestine and Oman, along with the Indonesian envoy, participated in the initiative, expressing solidarity with the victims and support for Sri Lanka during this period of recovery.
