MALWATU AND ASGIRI CHAPTERS DEPUTY REGISTRARS AND DIYAWADANA NILAME MEETS PRESIDENT

Deputy Registrars of the Malwathu and Asgiri Chapters and the Diyawadana Nilame meet the President

The Deputy Registrars of the Malwathu and Asgiri Chapters stated that the program led by the President and the Government to rebuild the country and restore public life following the disaster is commendable and that they extend their blessings to these efforts.

Most Venerable Mahawela Rathanapala Nayaka Thera, Royal Pandit and Deputy Registrar of the Malwathu Maha Vihara of the Siam Nikaya; Most Venerable Muruddeniye Sri Dhammarathana Nayaka Thera, Deputy Registrar of the historic Asgiri Maha Vihara and Custodian of the historic Badulla Muthiyangana Raja Maha Vihara; and Mr Nilanga Dela, the Diyawadana Nilame of the historic Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, called on President Anura Kumara Dissanayake this morning (11), during which they made these remarks.

Discussions were also held regarding the provision of relief to those affected in the Kandy District and the measures for their resettlement. During the meeting, the Diyawadana Nilame drew the President’s attention to the support that could be extended by the Dalada Maligawa towards the resettlement efforts.
A financial donation was also presented by the historic Sri Dalada Maligawa to the ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund.
