Under-19 team records first victory
Sri Lanka opened their campaign in the Asian Under-19 Cricket Tournament today (13) with a comfortable eight-wicket victory over Nepal.Batting first, Nepal were restricted to 82 runs in 28.5 overs by the Sri Lankan bowlers.Sethmika Seneviratne produced an outstanding bowling performance, claiming five wickets for 25 runs.Nepal’s top scorer was Cibrin Shrestha, who made 18 runs In reply, Sri Lanka reached the target in just 14.5 overs, losing only two wickets.
Dimantha Mahawithana remained unbeaten on 39.Sri Lanka is competing in Group B of the tournament, which is being held in Dubai.
