Sri Lanka’s economy grows 5.4% in third quarter
Sri Lanka’s economy expanded by 5.4% in the third quarter of 2025, according to the Department of Census and Statistics, data released on 15 December showed.
Gross domestic product for the quarter rose to Rs. 3,325,611 million, up from Rs. 3,154,148 million recorded in the corresponding period of 2024.
All major sectors recorded growth during the quarter. Agricultural activities increased by 3.6%, industrial activities by 8.1% and services by 3.5%, the department said.
