Sri Lanka’s Tharushi Abisheka (Podi) has won the gold medal in the women’s 1500 metres event at the Asian Under-20 Athletics Championships.

At the championships currently being held in Hong Kong, she recorded a time of 4 minutes 31.41 seconds in the event.The silver medal in the event was won by an Iranian athlete, while the bronze medal was secured by a South Korean athlete.Meanwhile, Sri Lankan athlete Vidushan Rajendran finished in sixth place in the men’s 3000 metres event at the Asian Under-20 Athletics Championships.
