Gold prices in Sri Lanka have declined by around Rs. 9,000 following a sharp fall in global gold rates.Accordingly, the price of a 24-carat gold sovereign, which stood at Rs. 391,000 yesterday (June 18), has dropped to Rs. 382,000 today (June 19).Meanwhile, the price of a 22-carat gold sovereign, which was Rs. 359,700 yesterday, has fallen to Rs. 351,500 today.

In the international market, the price of an ounce of gold was recorded at around USD 4,138 today.
