ICC delegation to visit SL to review fairness of SLC Interim Committee appointment

A group of officials from the International Cricket Council (ICC) are expected to arrive in Sri Lanka in the coming days to assess whether the appointment of the Transitional Interim Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) was carried out fairly and properly.
Although the ICC has already been informed of the committee’s appointment, the visiting officials are expected to review the process and submit a report based on their findings.
A final decision on whether to formally recognise the committee is expected to be made based on that report.
It is also expected that if the ICC is satisfied with the proposals submitted by the Ministry of Sports regarding amendments to the SLC constitution and the conduct of fresh elections, a specific timeframe will be granted for implementation.

Despite 02 weeks having passed since the appointment of the interim committee, the ICC has not yet issued an official statement on the matter.
Previously, when former Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe dissolved the cricket administration and appointed an interim committee, the ICC responded within days, leading to a brief suspension of SLC, with that interim arrangement lasting only a day.
