Health Promotion Bureau warns of eye infections in crowded places following floods
– The Health Promotion Bureau warns people to be on the alert for eye infections, which can easily spread in places where people gather following the recent floods.
The Health Promotion Bureau advises the people to follow health practices to protect themselves from eye infections.According to the Bureau, the symptoms of eye infections are redness and swelling of the eyes, watering and discharge, light sensitivity, itching, gritty and crusting.People are advised to wash their hands often with soap and water, disinfect surfaces that are touched often, cover coughs and sneezes, clean contact lenses properly and to seek medical advice if symptoms persist for more than a week.
People are advised to avoid touching or rubbing their eyes and sharing personal items to prevent any spreading of infections.
