Dilith Jayaweera questioned and statement recorded

The Sri Lanka Securities and Exchange Commission has summoned five leading business figures to record statements in connection with alleged financial irregularities in the Colombo Stock Exchange during the 2010–2015 period.
The businessmen summoned are Member of Parliament Dilith Jayaweera, Nimal Perera, Reno de Silva, Ashok Pathirage, and Tharanga Thoradeniya.
Accordingly, MP Dilith Jayaweera was summoned this morning (12) to record a statement.
Reports indicate that questioning will focus particularly on alleged fraud and irregularities in the stock market during the 2010–2015 period under the administration of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
It is also reported that notices have been issued summoning Nimal Perera, Reno de Silva, Ashok Pathirage, and Tharanga Thoradeniya to appear before the Securities and Exchange Commission for questioning in the coming days.
