Sanga yet to signal acceptance of Minister Kumara’s Cricket Reform Committee

Home » TO SLC’S TRANSFORMATION COMMITTEE SANGAKKARA NOT ACCEPTED BY SIGNING

Kumar Sangakkara has so far not indicated his acceptance of the appointment to the Cricket Reform Committee named by Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage, in what has become a fresh development in the process.
At present, Sangakkara is engaged in the Indian Premier League as a coach.
He is also resident in England.
Accordingly, many have questioned how he would be able to contribute to the work of the committee.
Meanwhile, it has been two weeks since the Cricket Reform Committee assumed duties, and all other eight members have received their respective letters of appointment.
To date, Sangakkara has issued no statement regarding the appointment.
According to reports received by Sri Lanka Mirror, he has informed a member of the committee that, as he does not wish to cause offence to anyone, he has decided not to accept the appointment.
