De Silva told Parliament today. He said the irony with regard to this situation is that those in the government criticize the economic policies of former President Wickremesinghe though they were implemented following the advice of Hulangamuwa ” the MP said.

At the same time he said some in the government acknowledge that there are able people in the opposition who could work for the betterment of the nation. This he said following a remark made by Minister Sunil Handunetti who said the government accepts that there are able people in the opposition. “ There is one such person sitting right opposite to where I am standing” he said pointing at Dr. De Silva who was seated in the opposition benches during that time.
