President Ranil meets Indian counterparts

President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is currently in India on an official visit, has met with Indian President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delh.
The Indian President has emphasized that India has always stood with Sri Lanka during its hour of need, and would continue to do so in future as well.
The two leaders noted that the India-Sri Lanka development partnership has touched the lives of Sri Lankans in a positive way.

The Banking (Special Provisions) Bill was passed in Parliament today (21) with amendments.
The debate on the Second Reading of this Bill was held today in Parliament from 10.30 a.m. to 4.45 p.m.
The Bill was passed after the incorporation of the respective amendments at the Committee Stage held thereafter.

The No-Confidence Motion by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) against Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella has been handed over to the Parliament Speaker a short while ago.
Accordingly, the NCM, with the signatures of 45 MPs has been handed over by SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara.
The motion was moved over the alleged irresponsible importation of ‘substandard’ medicines and surgical equipment which led to a weakened health sector and even deaths.
