Imported eggs to be sold in supermarkets

The government has decided to implement a programme to sell imported eggs through supermarkets, Trade Minister Nalin Fernando said.
He said that it is planned to further increase the number of eggs imported from India, and then the programme of selling imported eggs through supermarkets will be implemented.
The minister said this while speaking to the media in Gampaha.

State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya has said that import restrictions on 328 items will be released from tonight (July 20).

The price of a 400 gram packet of Lanka Sathosa milk powder has been reduced by Rs.31.
The price reduction is to come into effect from tomorrow (21).
Accordingly, the new price of a packet of “Lanka Sathosa” full cream milk powder will be Rs. 999.

Mr. Reyaz Mihular, a member of the Sri Lanka Telecom PLC Board, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the state-owned Sri Lanka Telecom.
The appointment was made during a meeting of the SLT Board of Directors held today (20).
Earlier today, his predecessor Rohan Fernando, had said that the Board of Directors had removed him from the post of Chairman of SLT.
The measures come in the midst of a proposed sale of shares and privatization attempts of the SLT.
