Sri Lanka squads announced for West Indies tour; Kusal Mendis named captain for limited overs
– Sri Lanka Cricket’s Selection Panel has announced the national squads for the upcoming tour of the West Indies, scheduled to feature matches across all three formats: ODI, T20I, and Test cricket. The team is scheduled to depart for the Caribbean tomorrow, May 26.
The SLC said wicketkeeper-batsman Kusal Mendis has been named the captain for both the ODI and T20I squads. All-rounder Kamindu Mendis will serve as his deputy, taking on the Vice-Captaincy role for the limited-overs formats as well as the Test squad. Meanwhile, seasoned all-rounder Dhananjaya de Silva has been entrusted to lead the side in the Test series.
The tour will kick off with the ODI series, followed by the T20I matches, and will conclude with the Test series.
