Defective brakes found in vehicle involved in accident with Asoka Ranwala
– A defect in the braking system has been identified in the vehicle of former Speaker and National People’s Power (NPP) Parliamentarian Asoka Ranwala, which was involved in an accident in Sapugaskanda on Thursday (11).Police Media Spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Police F. U. Wootler, said that while the vehicle inspection report has been received, the medical report of MP Ranwala has not yet been submitted to the police.According to the vehicle inspection report, the jeep driven by MP Ranwala had not been properly maintained and was found to have a defect in its braking system.
The Police Media Spokesperson stated that a decision on legal action against MP Ranwala will be taken after the medical report is received.The accident occurred on Thursday night when the jeep driven by MP Ranwala collided with a car and a motorcycle. At least three people were injured in the incident, including a six-month-old infant who was travelling in one of the other vehicles.
