The Ministry of Health and Mass Media has called for applications from journalists for the “Homagama Journalists’ Housing Scheme,” introduced for media professionals working in print, electronic and online media institutions.According to the Ministry, applicants must be permanent residents of Sri Lanka and should not own a house or land suitable for the construction of a house. Applicants must also have completed at least 10 years of service in the media sector.

A total of 27 housing units, each approximately 500 square feet in size, will be provided under the scheme. Applicants must be between 30 and 60 years of age.The Ministry said applicants will be selected according to stipulated criteria, including professional experience and other relevant qualifications.Applications for the 2026 scheme can be downloaded from the Ministry of Health and Mass Media’s official website from August 18.Completed applications should be sent by registered post to the Secretary, Ministry of Health and Mass Media, No. 163, “Asidisi Medura”, Kirulapone Mawatha, Polhengoda, Colombo 05.
