– A pilot project to install AI-based Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) on long-distance private buses is set to be officially launched today under the patronage of Transport, Highways and Urban Development Minister Bimal Rathnayake.The project aims to improve road safety and enhance the safety of passengers travelling on long-distance private buses.The AI-based systems are expected to assist in monitoring driving behaviour and identifying potential risks, while supporting safer driving practices among bus drivers.

The initiative is being introduced as part of efforts to strengthen road safety and reduce accidents involving long-distance passenger transport.
