A complaint has reportedly been lodged with the Cinnamon Gardens Police over rotten eggs being hurled at the office of Sudath Rathnaweera, who currently serves as Acting Director General of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC).

The incident is said to have taken place yesterday (May 21).However, the SLBC DG had not been present in the office at that time, reports say.The Cinnamon Gardens Police said investigations are underway into the incident, but the motive and identity of those responsible have not yet been established.
