Banks, police and underworld work as a cohesive unit to loot land
In Sri Lanka, the police and the underworld are one and the same, the organisation named ‘Citizens for Truth and Justice’ alleges.
Attorneys-At-Law Srinath Perera and Anura Gunaratne of the organisation point out that valuable lands are being grabbed all over the country and that the ministers’ bodyguards, police, the underworld and the banks are all involved in this.
They claim that the details needed for such land grabs are being leaked from within the banks and lands of innocent elderly people are being forcibly taken over after being threatened and intimidated with the backing of the police.
They say they are misusing the judiciary by making false allegations and safeguarding guilty politicians.
