– The government’s move towards extending the retirement age of the judges by two years is aimed at satisfying a few persons and thereby inflicting undue influence on the judiciary, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) said in a statement today.“The retirement age of the judicial officers is stipulated by the Constitution and therefore the retirement age has to be changed through a Constitutional amendment,” the party also said.
