A large Russian cargo aircraft arrives in Sri Lanka carrying relief assistance
A large cargo aircraft belonging to the Russian Federation arrived at the Katunayake Airport this afternoon (10), carrying a consignment of 35 metric tones of relief items for Sri Lankans affected by the destruction caused by Cyclone Ditwah.The aircraft, an Ilyushin IL-76, the largest cargo transport aircraft operated by Russia, arrived carrying the relief consignment.It is reported that the aircraft contained a mobile power generator, stocks of vegetable oil, sugar, rice and tents.
