The number of dengue-related deaths reported so far this year has risen to 31.The National Dengue Control Unit announced the figures based on data collected on 25 and 26 June.The reported deaths represent a case fatality rate of 0.06 per cent of all dengue infections recorded this year.

The total number of dengue cases reported so far this year has increased to 51,049.Of these, 17,208 cases were identified in June alone.

According to the National Dengue Control Unit, the highest numbers of cases have been reported from the Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Eastern Provinces.
