Power cuts have been implemented today despite assurances by the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) and the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to not impose power cuts until the conclusion of the ongoing 2022 GCE Advanced Level Examinations.

During a discussion at the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) yesterday, the PUCSL, CEB, and other relevant authorities agreed not to impose power cuts during the examination period.

However, several members of the public have pointed out power cuts have been imposed today despite the assurances.
