Twenty-six people were injured after a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus veered off the road and overturned in the 31st Junction area on the Siyambalanduwa–Monaragala main road today (29).The injured, including 11 women, 15 men and a five-month-old infant, were admitted to Monaragala District General Hospital.The bus was operating between Monaragala and Kotiyagala.

Police suspect the driver may have suffered a sudden illness. Investigations are underway.
