The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested a female Land Registrar attached to a Colombo‑area Land Registrar’s Office yesterday (July 07), in connection with a probe into forged documents.According to the CID’s Financial Crimes Investigation Unit, the suspect had allegedly provided second copies of deeds and register‑bound documents to outside parties, thereby aiding organized crime, conspiring, and preparing forged documents against lawful owners to unlawfully transfer lands.

The suspect is a 51‑year‑old resident of Pannipitiya.Further investigations are underway.
