Wanindu Hasaranga Joins LSG for IPL 2026 at ₹2 Crore
– Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have snapped up Sri Lankan spin star Wanindu Hasaranga at the IPL 2026 Mini Auction, securing the all-rounder for ₹2.00 crore.
Hasaranga, who was released by Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of the IPL 2025 season, entered the auction at a base price of ₹2 crore and was swiftly picked up by LSG, strengthening their bowling attack with proven wicket-taking quality ahead of the new season.The 27-year-old leg-spinner has been among the most impactful overseas spinners in the IPL since making his debut in 2021. In 35 IPL matches, Hasaranga has claimed 45 wickets, earning a reputation for delivering crucial breakthroughs in the middle overs and thriving under pressure.
Primarily known for his bowling, Hasaranga also offers handy lower-order batting, adding further balance to the LSG lineup as the franchise fine-tunes its squad for IPL 2026.
