FOR METRO TRANSIT 104 NEW BUSES TO FLEET

104 new buses for Metro Transit by August


 The Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development today signed an agreement to import 104 new buses for Metro Transit, a subsidiary of the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB), in a move aimed at improving the country’s public transport service.

The agreement was signed at the Ministry premises in Koswatta, Battaramulla, between the Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development and Indra Traders (Pvt.) Ltd.Secretary to the Ministry, Prof. Kapila C. K. Perera, and members of the Board of Directors of Indra Traders (Pvt.) Ltd. participated in the exchange of agreements.

According to the agreement, the buses are scheduled to arrive in the country in August. Officials said the new fleet is expected to enhance the efficiency and quality of public transportation services across Sri Lanka.Chief Executive Officer of Metro Transit Company, B. M. Piyathilaka, and several officials were also present at the event.
