Post-mortem examination of Kapila Chandrasena’s body today
The post-mortem examination into the death of former SriLankan Airlines Chief Executive Officer Kapila Chandrasena is scheduled to be conducted this morning (09).
Pasan Amarasekara ordered that the post-mortem examination be carried out by a five-member judicial medical panel appointed by the Director of the National Hospital of Sri Lanka, and that the relevant report be submitted to court on the 12th.
The order was issued after considering submissions made by the Kollupitiya Police, which is conducting investigations into the incident. The body of former Sri Lankan Airlines CEO Kapila Chandrasena was found yesterday morning (08) at a house in the Kollupitiya area.
The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption had previously filed a case against Chandrasena over allegations that he accepted a bribe of US$2 million in connection with the purchase of Airbus aircraft for SriLankan Airlines in 2013, during his tenure as the airline’s Chief Executive Officer.
