Pabasari Arundathi Koliyabandara hails from Amunugama,in Kandy,father a retired weapons officer,trainer in the Air Force,mother a school teacher.Pabasari as a research scholar possesses significant skills and characteristics in profusion in academics since she was a teenager at Mahamaya Balika Vidyalaya in Kandy,has carried her passion uninterruptedly excelling in University and post graduate studies having conferred a PhD in Chemistry.She possesses an ideal temperament and potentials required for her role which enables her students to realize their goals. Currently Pabasari sermons the students at the Sri Jayewardenapura University as a scientific researcher,educator,trainer on sustainable consumption and production. Pabasari ( SCP) has created a positive learning environment.
Pabasari had acquired broadcasting fever apart from tutoring from her experiences in school extra- curricular activities ,Daham pasel, English classes, library and having involved in abundant of societies in school. She had confessed having had a very stunning school history, having been involved in sundry exterior curricular activities. Been an energetic member of both Sinhala and English debating teams, literary competitions, school dancing troupe, compering.sports,President Girl Guide,the highest rank for a Girl Guide also as an active member of media unit invariably having partaken in inter school competitions, which had given the prospect to augment her global familiarity . This is how she progressed to the near pinnacle in many areas progressively expanding her skill.Pabasari while still a teenager had been adjudicated runner-up in all island range for the best compere organized by ANCL at the “Union Neth Hamuwa”
She had been able to come to SLRC to impress them because of the experience gained from “Muthuhara” while devoted to “daham pasel” time participating in inter ‘Daham pasel’ contests while young.It was thereafter Pabasari had won in the ‘Kaveetha’ inter university competitions. This made her to be summoned by the SLRC along with other talented girls.She for her significant flair was selected as the ‘Best creative tv programme presenter’ .This had made a huge impact in her career as an relief announcer in the SLBC too., But could not continue owing to work load in campus which could not be neglected at any cost..During season two of Kaveetha inter university program she was invited to SLRC as an presenter thereafter Derana TV too had approached her to announce varied type of programs like “Gee Dam Pada”,”Para Kiyana Tharuka”,”Seda Mawatha” etc. Pabasara had added that the program she loves most to present is “Gee Dam Pada” to which when she is not available the authorities in the channel have failed to find an appropriate substitute, hence this Poya day program had not gone on air.
SLRC had once advertised for new announcers for the new lottery “Sampath Rekha’ to which Pabasari had been an automatic choice This had persisted for a decade or so.The manner lottery proclaiming is different hence Pabasari has had to learn from reading literature .She had sustained in the parallel imposing vein having gripped a set of appropriate words. Pabasari has said in the lottery program the words need to be precise and read swiftly had to be spot on and precise the entie program was a bit tense. Simultaneously she had been offered an oriental programs which was different much easier. When interrogated as to her most liked program she had affirmed as “Gee dam pada” the poya day program where she has to co-ordinate a Buddhist Monk, two lyric writers and a musical band with a solo singer, a bit cumbersome for a novice.This is ample testimony of the expertise of Pabasari since debuting in year 2004,There is a Sinhalese proverb that a daughter should be beautiful and a son should be intelligent in a dwelling but Pabasari has flatly refuted this saying as she possesses mutually intelligence, talent to link with her beauty.
Pabasari had obtained a first class in her finals in Science mani subject been Chemistry.Hence she was allowed to sit for PhD while in native Sri Lanka which she has obtained sans a much of a hassle.She had been able to achieve a lecture’s post in a relatively young age..Pabasari is presently a senior lecturer university of Sri Jayewardenapura having performed obligations as an Instructor and Research Assistant from years 2014 to year 2020. The area Pabasari to draw attention is the study of chemical processes that occur in water ,air,terrestrial and living environments which she could easily navigate over .
She is married to Thilanka Abeysekera , a military medical doctor Major by rank, the duo is blessed with a baby boy Mihinula , one year old.
