He made these remarks today (4) while attending the opening of the Thalangama Depot of the Lanka Metro Transit.The depot was officially declared open this morning under the patronage of Dr. Kumanayake and Deputy Minister of Transport and Highways Dr. Prasanna Gunasena. Speaking at the event, Dr. Kumanayake said the Metro Bus initiative was not simply about introducing new buses, but about transforming the overall culture of public transportation.He said the new service was expected to ensure passengers had access to comfortable buses, while drivers and conductors would treat passengers with respect and give greater consideration to their needs.

He added that the initiative was also aimed at creating a more pleasant and safer travel experience for the public.
