All three generating units at the Norochcholai Lakvijaya Coal Power Plant have been restored to full operation and reconnected to the national grid.Engineers from the Ceylon Electricity Board have successfully restored the units, which had been out of operation due to maintenance work and technical faults that occurred earlier.This brings the plant’s full capacity of 900 megawatts back into the national grid. Officials say this will provide significant support in maintaining an uninterrupted electricity supply without power cuts and managing hydropower generation in the period ahead.
