– The Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to investigate into the import of coal has informed the public to submit any information held by individuals or institutions regarding matters related to the imports of coal before May 22, 2026.

The Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry, appointed to investigate and inquire into various irregularities and/or unlawful acts committed in the import of coal, generation of electricity using such coal, and all other related activities from 2009 to April 16, 2026, has now been established at the 5th Floor, Magistrate’s Court Complex, Adhikarana Piyasa, Sanchi Arachchi Watta, Adhikarana Mawatha, Colombo 12.

The Commission informs the public to submit any information held by individuals or institutions regarding this matter before May 22, 2026 and that the preliminary investigations of this Commission have already commenced by the police officers attached to the Commission.
