Complaint lodged against Ranga Dissanayake

The Joint Opposition today (28) handed over a memorandum to W. M. N. P. Iddawela, Chairman of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, requesting that an immediate disciplinary inquiry be conducted against Ranga Dissanayake.
The memorandum states that serious concerns have arisen regarding the conduct of Ranga Dissanayake in his capacity as Director General of the Commission and that numerous complaints have surfaced alleging that he has been carrying out his duties in an arbitrary and politically biased manner.It further notes that although the accuracy of those complaints is not known, it is the Commission’s absolute right to look into the allegations and take the necessary action.The Joint Opposition has also requested, through the memorandum, that an impartial investigation be conducted without delay into the allegations contained in the affidavit submitted to court by Kapila Chandrasena while he was still alive.
