Over 100 Lankans who enlisted in the Russian army, reportedly killed
The Association of Families of War Heroes Affected by the Ukraine – Russia Conflict say that more than 100 Sri Lankans who were trafficked and allegedly duped into fighting on the Russia-Ukraine front as mercenaries, have been killed while around 100 more have gone missing.The association’s President – S. W. Jayathilaka, said that over 50 retired Sri Lankan soldiers who were recently recruited, are currently on the battlefield.
Some have reportedly been receiving hospital treatment for injuries, while the whereabouts of others remain unknown, he note
