– A consignment of illegal drugs sent through airmail to the Colombo Central Mail Exchange was seized by the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit this afternoon.Officials said the drugs, including Kush, hashish, cocaine and ecstasy, had an estimated street value of more than Rs.60 million.The consignment, sent from Thailand, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States, had been addressed to fictitious addresses in various parts of the country, they said.

The unclaimed parcels were opened in the presence of officials from the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit and the Central Mail Exchange before being handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations.
